Technologies We Use in Our Clinic
Cutting Edge Technology Makes Today’s Dentistry a Pleasure.
Some patients were forced to endure unpleasant or even traumatic dental procedures when they were children. Fortunately, in the vast majority of cases today, painful dentistry is a distant memory.
The many advances made to dental technology in the past two decades alone have served to keep patients safer and far more comfortable than could have ever been hoped for during the 20th century.
Below outlines of some of the equipment/technology we use at KB Village Dental in Sydney’s Lower North Shore.
CEREC
This state of the art CAD software lets us design every precise detail of your unique restorations with painstaking accuracy. CEREC software lets us customise the shape of your restorations to fit your specific clinical needs.
You’ll be amazed as you watch Dr Evan use this technology to create and design in real time, allowing you to leave here on the same day with your new restoration firmly in place!
Computer Aided Milling Machining
While you wait, exact design specifications are sent to our on-site milling machine (CAD-CAM Communication) where your restoration will be created. Just 5 to 15 minutes later, your ceramic/colour matched restoration will be ready for placement. Your new restoration will be fitted, bonded and polished to your tooth to help support and strengthen its structure. The tooth’s natural form, function and beauty will be restored in a single sitting saving you from requiring multiple visits.
- Single visit convenience- no temporary restorations
- No uncomfortable impression trays
- Beautiful aesthetics- colour matched ceramic
- Natural-looking smile
- High strength, clinically-proven ceramic (millions of successful restorations worldwide)
- Enamel like materials- natural look and feel
Digital X-rays / OPG / Intra Oral Cameras
At KB Village Dental- all the X-rays we take are digital. This technology maximises image quality and minimises our patients’ exposure to radiation. The result: highly detailed images of your teeth, gums, facial bones and structure- all of which are invaluable when it comes to devising your treatment plan. We also take OPG (orthopantomogram) X-rays. The OPG shows a comprehensive panoramic view of the mouth as a whole- specifically things like wisdom teeth, un-erupted baby teeth, root formations and bone levels.
Dental Laser
The SIROLaser xtend is a Diode Laser, and was designed to cut and reshape soft tissue. Gum tissue can be modified or re-contoured, so invasive surgical techniques can often be eliminated. The results: faster procedures with less pain and reduced healing times.
