Having accreditation reassures our patients we have proven to be of the highest calibre in delivering quality patient care within Australia, and meeting all health and safety requirements. It gives our patients confidence to know they are being treated with care and their safety is of the utmost priority to us.
What is Accreditation?
Accreditation by QIP is independent recognition that a dental practice meets the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS). These requirements were adopted by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care in 2011 and synchronise regulatory requirements passed down by Federal and State governments, focusing on quality and performance. It provides assurance to patients that the accredited practice meets certain requirements and criteria which all dental practices are measured against with regular evaluations being conducted.
Accreditation is, therefore, a tool to improve performance and outcomes within the dental practice and provides independent recognition that an organisation is committed to safety and quality. When a patient chooses an accredited practice they can expect a reduction in clinical and general risks and feel confident knowing that all staff are educated and engaged in the implementation of excellent standards of practice and the continued improvement of dental processes within their practice.
Quality Innovation Performance (QIP) is committed to providing simple and effective accreditation and certification programs consistent with international best practice. “Achieving accreditation demonstrates a commitment to the provision of excellent dental care and continuous quality improvement within the practice.”- Quality Innovation Performance.
